If you have several weeks before your move, you will want to consider preparing for your move in stages. We suggest the following move calendar, if time allows.
If you need to compress this timeline, you will want to make sure you complete all of the steps outlined in a way that most appropriately fits your move schedule.
Identify your workplace. Ideally this would be a spare room that you can use to collect items for packing as well as assemble a workstation for ease and convenience of packing.
Build your workstation. Your workstation is key in making the packing process efficient and comfortable. A large table covered with a heavy blanket or mattress pad provides a good, firm work surface.
Gather supplies. When packing for your move, you will need a variety of supplies, including boxes, newsprint (unprinted newspaper for wrapping), bubble wrap, tissue paper, packing tape, felt markers, and scissors.
